Find a Kinder - Wassim’s Story
We worked with the Department of Education to produce a series of short films promoting free kindergarten for refugee and asylum-seeking families.
For many families new to Australia, accessing services can feel complicated and daunting. There are questions around eligibility, language, and whether the information applies to them. These films were designed to feel peer-led, making the process clearer and more approachable by sharing real experiences from real families.
Our interviews were conducted in Wassim’s native Arabic language, with an interpreter facilitating the conversation in real time. This allowed him to speak comfortably and at length, without simplifying or adjusting his responses. We then sourced and collaborated with an Arabic editor, to help shape the final story.
