We’re Second Breakfast. Video and photography specialists based in Melbourne/Naarm. We team up with environmental giants, social change-makers, outdoor adventurists and small businesses with big things to say. Over the years we’ve crafted everything from polished promos to bold brand stories… and we’ve gone viral more than once.
Most projects are run by founders, Izzy and Dan. So from first email to final export, you’re dealing directly with the people behind the lens and the business. We keep things lean when we can, scale up when we need to, and only call in crew we’d trust with our lives (or at least our SD cards). It’s a modern, flexible production model that delivers value for your budget.
We’re collaborators and we listen closely. Because who knows your business more than you? And yes, it’s true that the vibe matters just as much as the visuals, which is why we take a trauma-informed approach to interviews and on-set direction, creating space for people to feel comfortable in front of the camera. The result? A smoother, more positive experience for everyone involved, and the kind of setting that brings out the best in cast, crew, client and talent.

Izzy Watts
Director / Production Lead
Izzy has produced commercials and content for some of the biggest brands in Australia and was once the Content Lead for Australia’s largest humanitarian organisation - filming, directing, editing and producing campaigns and video content. And she’s a bloody talented photographer too. Jeez, some people.
When she’s not got her camera in hand you can find her facilitating women’s groups, fostering dogs and planning her next outdoor adventure. And her infectious laugh means you’ll never have trouble finding her on set.

Dan Crowley
Creative Director / DOP
Dan has been in the engine room of video production and marketing agencies for over a decade — delivering content, campaigns and strategies for global change-makers, challenger brands and some of Australia’s biggest businesses.
The second founding half of Second Breakfast, Dan’s a seasoned visual storyteller, marketer and published creative writer — so you can count on him to find the angle to elevate your project and take the creative to the next level. Pastry connoisseur, history podcast nerd and heavy music lover.

Ryan Patrick
Editor / Production Assistant
Ryan has a natural instinct for rhythm, timing, and story. Probably from years of being plugged into guitar amps and audiobooks. These days he’s a qualified Sound Engineer and Second Brekky’s talented Junior Editor. Whether it’s scroll-stopping social content or long-form interviews, Ryan brings a calm, thoughtful approach to every cut.
Off the clock, you’ll find him curling up with a book and a cuppa, or marching off into the bush with binoculars in hand, because he "might have just spotted a crested pigeon". Yep, he’s really into birds.

Aiden Ivers
Art(ificial) Director / Production Assistant
Aiden’s the kind of team member who never takes a day off, always has the perfect thing to say, and picks up new skills faster than you can say "machine learning." But then that’s the beauty of AI.
As our ever-evolving Art(ificial) Director, Aiden quietly powers our workflow, keeping things sharp, strategic, and moving fast. That gives us more time to focus on the human side of things: storytelling, big ideas, and building relationships. Part Executive Assistant, part Creative, part Account Manager… and probably future boss. So be nice!

You get in touch with your initial ideas or a fleshed out brief. We digest and come back with a ballpark quote to get things off the ground - and avoid any hidden surprises

Our team sits down with yours to dig deeper into the detail. You tell us about what’s happening in your world and why that’s important.
We come away with a deep understanding of your challenges, goals and expectations. The quote is finessed and finalised.

Using all we’ve learned, scripts are written, interview questions are shaped and the creative storyboard is developed.
Every ‘where’, ‘when’, ‘why’ and ‘how’ is answered ahead of the shoot day so things can run like clockwork.
Permits are applied for, gear is packed and the crew is ready to hit the ground running.
